These procedures are very similar to what we have followed in the past, but BCPS is now transitioning to the “I Love You Guys” Standard Response Protocol (SRP) to respond to a variety of possible emergencies. You can learn more about this approach at https://iloveuguys.org/.

As part of our safety plan, we are required to hold the following drills throughout the school year. After each drill, we review what worked well and what may need to be improved:
- 9 Fire Drills
- 1 Emergency Evacuation Drill (500 ft)
- 2 Severe Weather Drills
- 3 Scenario Drills (including Hold/Secure, Lockdown, and Shelter)
