Communication to Families, Return to 4-Day In Person Hybrid Learning Form
Halethorpe Elementary School
Dear Halethorpe School Families,
We are excited to announce the opportunity for identified students to attend school for in-person learning 4 days per week. Through consultation with health experts and while continuing to implement CDC recommended mitigation strategies to the greatest extent possible, this opportunity will be available to the following groups of students beginning on the identified dates:
- Beginning May 10, 2021, the following student groups will have the choice between in-person learning 4 days per week with virtual learning on Wednesday, or 5 days of virtual learning:
- All elementary school students Preschool – Grade 5.
- All students in our Public Separate Day Schools.
- Students receiving special education services primarily outside of general education (cluster and regional programs including FALS, CALS, SEL, Hearing Impaired, Visually Impaired) in Grades 6 – 12.
- Beginning May 17, 2021, all other secondary students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and/or a 504 Plan in Grades 6 – 12 will have a choice between in-person learning 4 days per week with virtual learning on Wednesday, or 5 days of virtual learning.
Wednesdays will continue to be asynchronous days for all students. Wednesdays provide teachers the opportunity to meet with small group of students, provide tutoring, conduct individual student check-ins, plan for instruction, and engage in professional learning.
BCPS has identified May 10 and May 17 as start dates for system planning purposes; however, we have learned that the nature of this pandemic is ever changing and evolving which could impact the scheduled timeline as more updated information is provided.
Elementary - Families should indicate their choice using the link below by April 21, 2021.
